Ravi Bajaj was educated in the American college of applied arts in London. In 1987 Ravi Bajaj founded his fashion house and the label ‘Ravi Bajaj’ when fashion was still incipient and developing in India. Ravi Bajaj excels not only in women’s wear but also in men’s wear. His men’s collections target the audience that is fashion conscious. Ravi Bajaj has established his reputation for classic and elegant western wear.

Ravi Bajaj has done complete justice to men by creating a fine and classy men’s collection. A good example is his men’s apparels in his Delhi boutique. Here Ravi Bajaj has created a melange of traditonal and western men’s wear. The boutique has jackets, sherwanis and kurtas along with pants that make a style statement. Also, in one of his fashion shows Ravi Bajaj displayed men’s wear that had luxurious fabrics and elegant colours. The clothes had an international appeal to them. In fact men’s wear is Ravi Bajaj’s forte. Ravi Bajaj is one of the most sought after designers in Bollywood for Hindi film heroes. He has also designed Amitabh Bachchan’s attire for his Kaun Banega Crorepati game series.

Ravi Bajaj was a fashion consultant to many corporate houses when fashion was still blooming in India. He was the first designer to design corporate uniform for the staff of Jet Airways. Of late Ravi Bajaj has launched prêt a porter i.e. ready to wear collection and has priced it below 2500 Rs keeping in mind the price sensitive Indian market. Ravi Bajaj always tries to create innovative and fresh designs for all seasons.

When it comes to women’s traditional wear Ravi Bajaj prefers the sari. In one of his fashion shows displaying women’s traditional wear Ravi Bajaj showcased saris made of chiffons, nets organza and heavy georgettes with embroidered skirts in lace effects as inner petticoats .Here Ravi Bajaj restored the Indian handicraft on the clothes such as shadow work magic on fabrics. The colours used for the saris were fresh ones such as peach, corn husk, daffodil and pink, lime, lettuce green, mars red and black and white.
